You don’t need to have it all figured out.

You don’t need to be a traditional job-seeker.

If you want to use your skills for ethical, human-centred work — and you want to do it somewhere that truly values your voice…

this might just be your sign.

Let’s build something better — together.

🧭 Choose your own adventure. Write your own story.
🧠 Work somewhere that lets you live it.

Join a team that sees, hears, and values you — exactly as you are.

At Benefact Occupational Therapy, we’re not just building a service — we’re shaping a system that works for people with invisible and psychosocial disabilities, with people who understand what that actually means.

We’re here to meet you where you’re at — whether you’re new to the field, returning from burnout, exploring a career shift, or already established and looking for a place that aligns with your values.

🌱 Who We Are

Benefact is a neuroaffirming, trauma-informed, and radically inclusive occupational therapy practice based in Sydney, with telehealth services offered Australia-wide. We specialise in supporting people with invisible disabilities, including ADHD, Autism, EDS, psychosocial disability, and complex mental health.

We’re clinician-led, client-centred, and deeply committed to equity and care that actually works. That means rejecting outdated systems, making space for lived experience, and doing things differently — on purpose.

🧭 Our Values

We’re guided by five core principles:

  • Flexibility: We support our clients and our team to work in ways that make sense.

  • Inclusion: Neurodivergent, disabled, queer, and culturally diverse people are not just welcome — we’re already here.

  • Access: We actively design systems that reduce barriers to care, work, and life.

  • Ethics: We walk the walk when it comes to ethical, transparent, and accountable practice.

  • Choice: Everyone deserves to write their own story. We just help create the pages.

🤝 Who We’re Looking For

We’re growing — and we’re looking for values-aligned humans across all roles, including:

  • Occupational therapists and allied health clinicians

  • Therapy assistants and support staff

  • Students on placement, in training, or exploring their options

  • Admin, ops, intake, and behind-the-scenes champions

Whether you’re on the clinical frontline or holding the fort backstage, you’re part of what makes the system work. You matter.

We are especially keen to hear from:

  • LGBTQIA+ team members, across all roles and levels of experience

  • Autistic, ADHD, and multiply neurodivergent people

  • People with lived experience of disability, chronic illness, or mental health

  • Clinicians and staff from Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander backgrounds

  • Culturally and linguistically diverse professionals

  • People returning to work after burnout, illness, study, or a career break

  • Humans who thrive in non-linear career paths

  • Folks who aren't sure where they “fit” — but feel like this might be it

We value authenticity, compassion, and curiosity over perfect CVs. If you’re aligned with our values and want to be part of a team that cares about how we work (not just what we do) — we want to meet you.

🧑‍🏫 Mentorship & Student Supervision

At Benefact, we believe in growing the future of the profession — ethically, accessibly, and with heart.

We regularly collaborate with leading Australian universities to host occupational therapy students across different placement types, including:

  • Traditional block placements

  • Project-based or research collaborations

  • Shadowing, co-facilitation, or peer mentorship (flexibly built around your capacity)

You don’t need to be a formal “supervisor” — just someone willing to model real-world practice, share your perspective, and support emerging professionals in safe and flexible ways.

We’ll support you to shape your involvement in ways that feel doable and sustainable.

🛠️ What We Offer

  • Flexible hours & hybrid work options (remote, in-person, or blended)

  • Genuine mental health days and a workplace culture where boundaries are respected

  • Clinical supervision and peer mentoring, tailored to neurodivergent learning styles

  • Opportunities to support students and contribute to OT education

  • A low-bureaucracy environment that supports autonomy, creativity, and accountability

  • Support for lived experience staff, including peer spaces, pacing strategies, and transparent communication

  • Fair pay, anti-hierarchy, and no pressure to take on work outside your scope

📌 Accessibility and Inclusion

Benefact is committed to removing barriers to recruitment and employment. We actively encourage alternative application formats and welcome access needs at any stage.

We can accommodate:

  • Video/audio applications

  • Dot-point responses or Easy Read versions

  • Access support in preparing or submitting your application

  • Pre-application chats if you’d like to learn more informally

We’re constantly learning and adjusting — if something isn’t accessible, we want to fix it.
