Isabella Favotto (She/Her)

Isabella is Benefact Occupational Therapy's Principal Occupational Therapist. Holding a Bachelor of Health Science and Master of Occupational Therapy, she is registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA), Occupational Therapy Australia (OTA), Royal College of Occupational Therapists (RCOT), and the World Federation of Occupational Therapy (WFOT).

Isabella firmly believes that everyone should be treated with dignity and respect. Having grown up in Sydney's Western Suburbs, Isabella has professional and personal experience communicating with people of diverse cultural and religious backgrounds. 

A fierce mental health advocate with her own lived and professional experience, Isabella has served as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) and Lived Experience Consultant within the psychosocial and invisible disability space for several years. She has worked with universities across several student and academic support roles. She enjoys hosting university students completing the clinical practice fieldwork component of their Bachelor's and/or Master's degrees. 

Within her practice, Isabella ensures that every one of her clients is heard and respected - regardless of their gender expression, sexuality, cultural background, or lifestyle. Isabella strives to create a safe and supportive 'judgement-free zone'. She ensures that her clients are provided with the right tools and support to enable them to become confident and active members of their clinical support team. 

Isabella enjoys all aspects of community-based NDIS occupational therapy practice, with a particular interest in:

  • Invisible and psychosocial disability clinical care management

  • Managing complex trauma across the lifespan

  • Sexual wellbeing and LGBTQIA+ safe practice (active member of ACON's Welcome Here Project)

  • Comprehensive Functional Capacity Assessment (FCA) and care needs assessment and reports

  • Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA) and Supported Independent Living (SIL) assessment and reporting

  • Medicolegal and Administrative Appeals Tribunal (AAT) consulting

  • Public health management and policy building

  • University student supervision, education and evaluation (AQF Level 7-9)

In her spare time, Isabella enjoys lifting weights, listening to true crime podcasts, spending quality time with her cat Marzia, and drinking way too much coffee!
